Saint Dionysius converted to Christianity after hearing the preaching of the Apostle Paul on the Areopagus (Acts 17). He became the first bishop of Athens and was present at the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos. Several of his writings survived and became very important in the history of the Church, including "On the Celestial Hierarchy."
