Saint Kyra of Syria

Saint Kyra of Syria lived for forty years in strict asceticism with her sister Marana. They lived in a small cell, exposed to the elements, wore heavy chains, and ate only every forty days. They only left their cell once for a pilgrimage to our Lord’s Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. She rested from her labors around the year 450.
